Our Story
The food your ancestors ate.
For the life you're building.
Mula started with a simple frustration: Indian superfoods have been in use for thousands of years, but the versions available in American stores are either fake, diluted, or stripped of their story.
Why We Started
We grew up eating the real thing.
Growing up in India, Makhana was the snack your grandmother made when you came home from school. Moringa seeds were pressed into the curry. Amaranth was in the festival sweets. These weren't trendy superfoods — they were just food.
When we moved to the US, the versions on store shelves looked the same but tasted completely different. Mass-produced, blended from multiple sources, no traceability. The story was gone.
Mula is our answer. Go back to the source. Pay the farmer properly. Tell their story. Bring the real thing to people who deserve it.
Bihar Makhana
Harvested by hand from ponds used for centuries. The Bihar region produces 90% of the world's Makhana. We source from the same families that have farmed it for generations.
Tamil Nadu Moringa
The "miracle tree" indigenous to South India. Our seeds come from small farms in Tamil Nadu where Moringa is still grown the traditional way — no pesticides, hand-harvested.
Our Principles
What we stand for
Single-Origin
Every ingredient traced to a specific farm in a specific region of India. No blending. No anonymity.
Farmer-First
We pay farmers above fair-trade rates. Their name and story is on every pack we sell.
Lab-Tested
Every batch is third-party lab tested before it ships. No compromises on what goes in your body.
FDA Compliant
Every import is fully compliant with US FDA regulations. Properly labeled, documented, and inspected.
QR Transparency
Scan the code on any pack and see the farm, the farmer, the harvest season. Radical transparency.
Authentic Origins
Not a generic import. Each product comes from its historical heartland — where it has been grown for centuries.
“Every bag of Mula carries someone's name. Someone's harvest. Someone's livelihood.”
When you buy Mula, you're not just buying a snack. You're buying a direct connection to a farmer in India who woke up that morning and did something extraordinary with their land.
